Mumble, mumble, grumble and groan...

Yes, this is going to be one of those posts...

Yesterday I was overcome with the urge for a coca cola and I was in a hurry to get somewhere so I pulled in to the drive-through at McDonald's. Now you have to understand that the McDonald's on the Miracle Mile has an outer lane that is used for ordering and an inner lane which is used for supply delivery. Both lanes converge into one just before the pay window, although the delivery lane has an option of driving straight across, entering the parking lot and then exiting. I was in the order lane and put in my order for a small coke.

Meanwhile, I saw a stopped (and presumably parked) car in the delivery lane. I did not think too much about this until I started to move forward and all of a sudden, that car pulled right in front of me. What the effing eff, I thought to myself but noticed the driver was an elderly gentleman of Asian ethnicity so I bit my tongue. He pulled up to the window and the server started to hand him my drink. No, he said, that was not his order. He did not want to order anything, in fact, he wanted directions to another town close by. So I waited there, five minutes, while the server explained to this bozo how to get to his destination. Drive through directions! Not a new concept, we often see that at the toll booth on the Golden Gate Bridge, but at McDonald's? The nerve.
