Lawrence Ferlinghetti is a Comedian

I have long thought so but today's blurb in Leah Garchik's column confirms it:

-- Poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti, who is on the board of the Piazza St. Francis Association, is donating original drawings and autographed books to a fundraising auction/party at Caffe Greco on Thursday. When I said I was fishing for a line to quote, he responded, "I'd suggest that lovers of St. Francis send dollars rather than loaves and fishes."
