Auction to Help Bill Laymon

Modulus Vintage J Guitar signed by famous bass players

(Stanley Clark, Phil Lesh, Jack Casady, Carol Kaye, others) to be auctioned off to help fellow bassist Bill Laymon.

eBay Auction begins Monday, December 17 and continues through December 26, 2007 at www.hearnet.com/auction.

Anderson Page of Modulus Guitars has donated a brand new Vintage J instrument with case, valued at $2698, to help raise funds for bassist Bill Laymon, formerly of The New Riders of the Purple Sage and long time bass player for the David Nelson Band.

Pete Sears has been traveling around the country gathering signatures on the guitar from fellow bass players.

Musicians who have signed the bass are Stanley Clark, Phil Lesh, Jack Casady, Carol Kaye, Charlie Haden, Bill Laymon, Kathy Peck, Alphonso Johnson, Pete Sears, Bobby Vega, David Hayes, Larry Graham, Victor Wooten and Peter Albin.

Bill has been suffering from Typhus, Bladder cancer and other complications. Unfortunately, he has no medical insurance and has incurred many outstanding expenses.

Several benefits have been held to raise funds for Billy. The most recent was on November 18, at the Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley, California, and featured David Nelson and Friends.

The instrument will go up on eBay on Monday, December 17, 2007 for 10 days with a starting bid of $3,000. For more information on the upcoming eBay auction go to www.hearnet.com/auction.

The Bill Laymon eBay Auction will be presided over by Pete Sears, and executive director/co-founder of H.E.A.R., /bassist, Kathy Peck.
