I sometimes wonder why I bother at all. According to Dr. Hathaway, I am supposed to refrain from any stimulation for two hours prior to bedtime and I am supposed to take 1 sublingual melatonin tablet and one oral melatonin tablet as well as 1 oral L-Tryptophan capsule. THIS is supposed to help me sleep. Also, according to Dr. Hathaway, I am supposed to move the dehumidifier into my bedroom to alleviate any mold symptoms. However, Dr. Engel told me to turn off the dehumidifier at night because the dry air exacerbates my nasal problems. Damned if you do, damned if you don't...

As for the refrain from stimulation aspect, she said I should not watch TV or use the computer but I could read a book because that was boring and would put me to sleep. Ha! Hardly! Every time I read a book, I get all worked up and want to write something, either about the book I am reading or another bit of my own stuff. And so I say unto ye, Dr. Hathaway, bah!

And I started on Dr. Hathaway's elimination diet (basically all food worth eating). Natural meats, some leafy veggies, fresh fruits (but no citrus or nightshades), etc. I got really testy in The Good Earth today while shopping. Just because the list says I can have an item does not mean I want it!

She told you books were BORING?

Um......

Obviously never read any of yours, Deb.

I actually have the same problem Michelle does--kinda. Books put me to sleep when I am not interested in them, such as for school. When I am interested, I can't put 'em down. Maybe this has changed with the scleroderma? I seem to get tuckered out so doggone often nowadaze. I didn't leave home since coming home from the SOL show, 'til yesterday afternoon! It was only because Michelle got my sorry arse outa here...only reason...sheesh.

No, no, there are olenty of boring books out there - it was the assumption that Michelle would keep them around the house to knock herself out with that made me blink.

Michelle, are you OK? Please ring if needed.

And Bethy, I have wireless headphones for you - they arrived.
