R.I.P. John Collins Dawson IV

Good bye old friend. I've been bawling my eyes out all morning. You know how much I loved you but I wonder if you ever knew how much SO MANY others loved you as well. Be free of pain and give my love to Elanna.

John was survived by loving family, his mom, a sister, two brothers and three nieces and we thank you for your kindness. He and big Elanna are in rock n roll heaven.

Hi Vicki, You must be Bruce's wife. Yes, I knew who John was survived by (also 3 step brotehrs and a step sister, his step mother Jimmie Dawson, his caregivers Holli and Salvador (who did an amazing job), good friends Trebbe and Brad, and countless people who loved him and hated what he was going through these past few years. I knew John for 40 years and was very blessed and honored to both a fan and a friend as well as the NRPS' first secretary they could call their own (as opposed to shared staff with the GD). This loss is one from which most of us will never truly recover - and in a way, that is a good thing, means John's memory will stay alive forever! May he rest in peace.

How horrible, His death is such a loss and he will be greatly missed. John was such a kind and beautiful person.........and oh so approachable. John was always so good to me, he always seem to make time for me no matter where we saw eachother through the years. May he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers go out to his extended family.

John was the best Bay Area composer and whenever he sent me a mail, he always call me "Janez, my dear friend". I am truly sad now when he's gone. Just sad.

He was a friend of mine as McGuinn would sing.
