Where and When

Tuesday, 10/9 at 7 PM - Lawrence Ferlinghetti reads from his new book, Poetry As Insurgent Art at the Booksmith on Haight Street in San Francisco. I have the book and it is sort of a guidebook for would-be poets. Mr. Ferlinghetti's sense of humor is great and this reading should be a lot of fun. I enjoyed hearing him read from the book this past Tuesday in Berkeley.

10/10 - Photographer Robert Altman is showing slides of his photos and signing copies of his new book, The Sixties, also at the Booksmith on Haight. There are some great shots in that book, including a wonderful picture of John "Marmaduke" Dawson (New Riders of the Purple Sage). John's mom, Ruth, said this is her favorite picture of him.

10/11 - HD Moe reads poetry at the Beat Museum on Broadway in San Francisco. Starts at 8 PM.

10/13 - Other Words -International Poetry Festival at New College of California on Valencia Street in San Francisco. Schedule says 7-7:45 PM and lists several poets. One can only assume they will be speed reading in their native languages.

10/14 - Other Words -International Poetry Festival concludes with more readings at City Lights Books on Columbus Street in San Francisco. 2 PM.

10/14 - The Trips Festival will show at the Sequoia Theatre as part of the Mill Valley Film Festival. I have my tickets!
