San Francisco International Poetry Festival

Opening Day Festivities

San Francisco's First Poet Laureate, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, wearing the very jacket he wore when he hugged me in GG Park a couple of weeks ago (different hat, though) - by the way, that photo is the centerfold in this week's San Francisco Bay Guardian)

Jack Hirschman (Current Poet Laureate) and Lawrence Ferlinghetti

A little urban atmosphere, high above Kerouac Alley

Very nice pictures.I miss spending time in the city. Must be "itching to get out of Portland". Hope your summer continues to be great and full of adventures. I can't wait to see Big Brother, Quicksilver, TC, and Jefferson Starship next weekend. Barry F. tells me that he is going to be playing for the northwest tour of SOL. S

And how nice of Vesuvios to provide us with free pizza beforehand!

And wasn't the pretty boy from Marseilles, well, pretty...? Seriously. Almost as pretty as the desserts at Step of Rome.
